Thai lesson of today :
1. Have you ever……?
คุณเคย….verb (+ object)…..ไหม
kun kəəy ………. mái?

เคย kəəy = ever, used to
ไม่เคย = mâi kəəy = never
**mái = a question word for yes – no questions.

คุณเคยขี้ช้างไหม
kun kəəy kìi cháang mái?
= Have you ever ridden an elephant?
*ขี่ kìi = to ride, rode, ridden
ช้าง cháang = an elephant
.
2. “Tone change meaning change”
ขี่ = ride
ขี้ = poop
ขี่ช้าง kìi cháang = ride an elephant
ขี้ช้าง kîi cháang = elephant poop

ช้าง cháang
ช่าง châang = a technician (mechanic, artisan, craftsman)
